UnitedHealthCare CEO shooting: the astrology

Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthCare since 2021, was shot and killed in New York City on December 4, 2024, at 6:45 am local time. The news became quite a big event in the U.S. in particular even before the killer could be apprehended, and once the killer was allegedly identified as a smart, Ivy League-educated tech guy from a rich background called Luigi Mangione, the interest in the case grew even more. A modern-day Raskolnikov, who apparently did the alleged killing not out of any personal vendetta or opportunity but simply because of his disillusionment with the U.S. healthcare system.

You will find on the Internet several astrology posts about Mangione. However, his birth time is not known, so one cannot determine the houses for his chart, and houses are extremely crucial information in an individual's chart in such an event. Just planetary movements will show you that Venus was squaring his natal Saturn on that day, which isn't something extraordinary in itself.

Brian Thompson's own birth time is not known, either. One can see Saturn conjuncting has natal Jupiter and squaring his natal Venus, which are not pleasant things in themselves, but without the house system, again, nothing much can be made from it.

I have not included pictures of the birth charts for both Mangione and Thompson, given the lack of key information they provide.

Most astrologers, however, have not analysed the chart of UnitedHealthCare, the company for which Thompson worked and which is getting unwanted spotlight after this killing. Unwanted as some of the unsavoury practices of health insurance firms like UnitedHealthCare also come in the spotlight because of the firm's CEO's killing. Many astrologers have not looked there as many astrologers are unused to look at charts of countries, companies, events, etc., or even know how to go about creating them, and then how to interpret them well. But my chief work is mundane astrology. So I would like to have a look at what the astrological charts for UnitedHealthCare show.

First, we need a "birth chart" for the firm. UnitedHealthCare was once upon a time Charter Med, Inc., and from the website of the Minnesota Secretary of State, I could obtain the following record regarding Charter Med's registry:

So we know the firm Charter Med, Inc., the antecedent of UnitedHealthCare, was registered on September 17, 1974, with Minnetonka as the principal executive office address (Minnetonka is still the headquarters of the firm). We, again, do not know the "birth time" (the exact time of registration) of Charter Med (now UnitedHealthCare Services), but for a firm, even if that is not known (and usually cannot be known), much is still useful. So with 12 noon as the "birth time," the following is the transit chart for UnitedHealthCare, at the moment of the fatal shooting of its CEO, Brian Thompson:

This chart, even if we cannot be sure about the houses, still shows valuable information. The company has a strong Jupiter in its birth chart, with a Jupiter-Venus opposition as well, showing how the company has done very well in its business so far. But, in the days around the shooting date, Saturn is conjunct this Jupiter-Venus opposition: note that Jupiter also signifies leaders, in this case the company's CEO. And then, transit Sun and Mercury (a retrograde and combust Mercury) are also squaring this same Jupiter-Venus combo. Mercury indicates youth and intelligence, indicating the killer would be young and smart. The alleged killer Mangione has both the qualities. Mercury is combust and retrograde, and also in detriment in the sign of Sagittarius: it seems thus from the chart the killer does not have a chance to remain at large and would be caught. In almost four degrees of movement, Mercury will have met the Sun, and I assume that the police must have identified who the killer is in four days' time though they arrested Mangione on the fifth day since the killing.

I also had a look at the solar arcs and midpoints of UnitedHealthCare on this day, and Solar Arc Sun=natal Saturn/Uranus, natal Saturn/Kronos. What a clear foretelling of the event this is! SA Sun=Saturn/Uranus indicates sudden bodily separation, of whom? Kronos, the leader, the CEO. It is the precise day of December 4 that this solar arc comes into play exactly. And boy, it indeed did so!

Let me end this with going back to Thompson and Mangione and see what their synastry chart shows us:

Out of the several aspects above, two main aspects to notice here are Mangione's Mercury (intellect, ideas) square Thompson's Sun (body), and both persons' Mars in square with each other, thus the two egos or what they stand for in conflict with each other.
