Ukraine: Winter 2025-26

Region in focus: Ukraine

General validity period: late December 2025 to late March 2026 (from the time of publication till around 20 Mar 2026)

Season of focus: Northern Hemisphere Winter (late Dec 2025 to late Mar 2026)

PREDICTIONS

Note: On May 31, 2025, I had predicted: "The country's leadership is highly likely to change between now and July 2026." This prediction has already succeeded, when on July 17, 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed a new prime minister and other key leaders in the largest government reshuffle since the Russian invasion. Yulia Svyrydenko took over as prime minister from Denys Shmyhal, who had held the post since 2020. However, I have not looked at the charts of Zelenskyy, so I cannot say firmly if there's a danger as well of his presidency ending before July 2026, but from Ukraine's charts, that possibility is very strong within this winter season. And now for predictions specific to Winter 2025-26 period for Ukraine:

• A relatively milder than usual winter, overall, but occasionally there would be sharp spells of strong precipitation.
• This period may be marked by a very strong destruction for the country. An uptick in bombings, explosions and fires is on the cards, and a lot of damage to buildings and structures is on the cards (even when compared to all that has already happened). The country's top leadership could also be in danger of life or a scandal. There is a very strong possibility of Zelenskyy not to be President by the beginning of Spring 2026. The danger to Zelenskyy is the highest when on a long-distance trip or related to foreign connections.
• If Zelenskyy goes, a woman or a wealthy person could be in the top position. Alternatively, it could be a person who concedes easily to Russian and U.S. demands and conditions to end the war with Russia.
• There could be a significant change in the country's foreign policy in this season. It would have also a huge effect on its resources and financial policy.
• Scandal may also attach to some top religious figure or a prominent wealthy person in the country. Alternatively, there may be a prominent crime against women, in general, or against some prominent wealthy or religious person.
• Prominent watercraft or aircraft accident(s), or attacks on these, may take place. Shipping, naval forces and/or foreign trade may be strongly impacted negatively.
