The chain of events following the imposition of martial law in South Korea
I just wanted to share an update regarding an astonishing validation of my predictions related to South Korea in the past couple of days, in case readers are unaware of my predictions or the events in South Korea.
While several of my weather predictions go right every week (about many of which you can read here), predicting weather is a much easier task than predicting a country's future events based on the country's chart alone. The latter is quite difficult, especially when you have the country's chart alone, not the charts of its principal leaders. So when a country's future events pan out in such precision in correspondence to the predictions as has happened in the case of South Korea, it makes the astrologer's day and gives them validation, not from their readers or subscribers, but directly from the universe.
First, for those who may be unaware, what happened. On December 3, 2024, the South Korean President, Yoon Suk Yeol, declared a martial law, seemingly from nowhere, stunning not only Koreans but also the world, including ally USA. Gatherings and protests were banned. The military, with tanks, was on the streets and at the Parliament. The country became tense in a matter of minutes. But then, in the face of severe domestic and international backlash, the President had to remove the martial law in a matter of hours and now faces impeachment as well as immense pressure to resign from his post, both from the people as well as his own party. Parliamentary affairs, which were already unstable because of friction on budgetary matters between the ruling party and opposition, have become worse now.
Now, what had I predicted, writing on September 5, 2024, for the late September to late December period for South Korea?
I quote myself:
- A very bad time for the ruling government. People may demonstrate strongly their disaffection with the ruler, whose fall looks highly likely. This may involve desertion by some political partner or backstabbing.
- Parliamentary affairs look unstable.
(The South Korea post had been behind a paywall, but I have removed it now. You can read the entire post here: https://palmistankur.com/autumn-2024-south-korea/)
I had also marked December 1-2, 2024, as among the critical dates for South Korea. But it is not that things necessarily do happen for each of the country-specific critical dates I mark, so this need not be stressed and could even be taken as a coincidence.
Every point of the above predictions is happening now:
- Tens of thousands of South Koreans are on the streets, asking the ruler to resign.
- The ruling party's leaders are deserting the ruler, asking him to resign, leaving the ruler isolated.
- The fall of South Korea's ruler (Yoon Suk Yeol) looks highly likely now.
- A lot of instability is there in the parliament right now, with tensions on the budget, the shortlived martial law and the impeachment motion against the President, which the ruling party says it will not support.
These predictions are all the more remarkable because when I had made this prediction, there was absolutely no context to this chain of events, this bolt-from-the-blue martial law, of which even South Korea's closest ally, USA, was kept in the dark.
Some people think that astrologers only make things up from context. It is not so, you may have understood from this. Context, of course, is important. You are not going to predict romance to a child of four even with the greatest of Venus transits in their chart. You are not going to predict snow in Chennai when you see a cold snap in the charts. But context is only the background. If you start letting the background dictate your foreground, that is, the context dictate your predictions, then you will end up simply saying whatever looks likely, not what really can happen. Some astrologers do make such mistakes, partly because they become overcautious, lest people criticise them when they have said something bold and yet little to nothing has happened.
But it is important to remember, in any profession, not just astrology, one does something out of devotion to that particular thing, not for wanting to pander to people. While it is very important and nice to have an appreciative other – readers such as you for an astrologer, an appreciating boss for those of you who work in jobs, an understanding spouse or partner for those of you who are not single – one's identity is not and must not be made subject to the other. And our work is a part of our identity, at least the meaningful work we do and we like to do.
Part of the reason I decided to start publishing astrological predictions was to let people understand what or what not astrology can do, what is reasonable or not reasonable, and how astrology is as respectable and difficult a field of study and practice as some of the finest sciences out there. That is why this little homily at the end.
