Please also refer to the general Global Overview of Year 2025-26 before reading.

Region in focus: Taiwan

General validity period: late Mar 2025 to late Sep 2025

Season published: Northern Hemisphere Spring (late Mar 2025 to late Jun 2025)

PREDICTIONS:

  • There may be a major earthquake during this period.
  • Spring may see more rains than usual, though overall weather may be on the pleasant side.
  • Some kind of demonstrations or strikes are possible during this period.
  • Some scandal or negative incident connected to women or children may make news during this period.
  • Death of a popular personality or leader is possible during this period. Death of someone holding power (which may or may not be the same person as the popular personality mentioned in the previous sentence) is possible, which looks more likely in the summer or in the latter half of the spring.
  • Some kind of fractiousness between legislators or parties may come to the surface in the Parliament.
  • Relations with a neighbouring country may see changes, and military affairs may come up for discussion. As I have said earlier, a move by the People's Republic of China on Taiwan seems very likely in the 2025-27 period, but this probability looks the highest to me in Spring 2026 and somewhat less probable in Spring 2025.
  • There may be much talk or activity (or some kind of new agreement) related to foreign relations, which may have an influence on the standing of the ruling government. However, if such an agreement or promise is made, it may well prove to be brittle in the future.
  • Taiwan may soon be entering a long era of a very low birth rate. Note that birth rate is already at low levels in Taiwan.
