Mega dams of China seen astrologically: Three Gorges and the under-construction dam on the Yarlung Tsangpo

China recently started building what would be the world’s largest hydropower dam, estimated to cost a massive 167 billion dollars, on the Yarlung Tsangpo in Tibet. Its projected hydropower capacity is 3 times that of the Three Gorges Dam and would affect millions of people downstream, in India and Bangladesh.
Before looking at the new dam under construction, let us look at the Three Gorges project, currently the world's largest capacity hydropower station. The following is the radix chart for the dam:

The most important thing for a structure like a dam is that one wants it to be durable, all the more important as the structure is located in an active seismic zone. The Ascendant and the IC here are in fixed signs, which is great news. In addition, Saturn is in its own decan, thus it is not peregrine and having a small favourable essential dignity. This adds to the great news, as you want Saturn to have at least some dignity when you want the structure to stand. The 1st house ruler is in its own house, which is fine. What isn't fine, though, is the loose opposition between Mars and Saturn. Moon is exalted, which is great, but the ruler of the 4th house, Venus, is in detriment. In addition, Mars is conjunct Regulus, which gives the dam an accidental nature. Also, IC is conjunct Algol, considered an evil star. Thus, overall, this does not promise a rosy future for the dam, which was completed in 2006 (with the complete project getting completed in 2020). The day and year when an eclipse would afflict that IC, at 25 degrees 56 arcminutes of Taurus, through conjunction, square or antiscion/contra-antiscion could prove disastrous for the dam. A computer program should be able to find such an eclipse in the coming years or decades.
Now let us look at the recent project, on which construction was announced on July 19, 2025:

The Ascendant is again in a fixed sign, but its ruler is in the 12th house, the house of difficult-to-anticipate hindrances. Construction start announcement was made at around 9 am, but even 10 minutes later would put the Mars-South Node malefic combination in the first house itself, though on the positive side, it would move the ruler of 1st into 11th rather than in the 12th. The Moon is exalted, but Mercury is retrograde, and the first application of Moon will be to the retrograde Mercury. Most importantly, Saturn is retrograde and in fall. Neptune, the modern signifier of water, is conjunct this malefic, Saturn.
Thus, it looks a very unfortunate time to start building such a project. The dam, even if built, may prove to be very accidental in nature, but even before that, the construction process of the dam and power station may see several accidents and difficult, unforeseen troubles.
It is very important to select a suitable time when one starts something important. Failure to do so may result in results that not optimised to the natal promise and undesirable outcomes. It is important, thus, to consult an astrologer for important beginnings: this is called electional astrology, as one elects (chooses) a moment to begin something important. For individuals, it could be marrying, starting a business, signing an important document or moving into a new house; for companies, it can be about signing on an important deal, launching a new campaign or moving to a new premises; for politicians, it could be starting a new political campaign, signing on the election nomination form or making a deal with another political party. When you build something, the time of starting construction and then the time of inauguration, both are important to choose.
