India: Year 2025-26

With this post, the cycle of publishing prediction posts for the year 2025-26 and/or Northern Hemisphere Spring 2025 (i.e. Southern Hemisphere Autumn 2025) starts. The "year" means the period from roughly 20 March 2025 to 20 March 2026. I publish regular seasonal and annual predictions for more than 25 countries of the world, and I start the 2025-26 predictions cycle with predictions about India.
This post is available to read to all subscribers, including those who subscribe for free. You may subscribe here.
Before reading, please make sure you understand the terminology used on this website. Also, read this post about understanding predictions.
A track record of some successful predictions made so far is maintained on my blog.
This post won't be edited once it's published.

Predictions
Note: This looks to be an unfortunate and eventful year for the country and its people.
- Strong likelihood of a big earthquake in the country during this period. (You may subscribe to my Weather & Earthquake Watch space for week-level predictions on weather and earthquakes.)
- More than the usual number of serious transportation accidents. In the near future, the time from around 27 Mar to 30 Mar 2025 looks particularly unfortunate.
- A time of religious strife, violence and controversies. Riots, probably communal or sectarian in nature, may happen. Religious sites or places of learning may see accidents/damage as well.
- Important, controversial litigation in the courts. Parliament may not be able to function smoothly. Relations within or between political parties are fractious, or there is a lot of chaos on the political scene.
- The balance of power in not in favour of the people of the country. The ruling government may attempt to act quite autocratically.
For a discussion of power, read an old blog post of mine.
- Death of a senior/prominent politician or state functionary—or someone who, basically, wields a significant amount of power on society (it could even be through wealth)—likely. This death could be through assassination. Death of some eminent scholar or educationalist, too, is likely.
- The ruler may not be in the seat of power anymore.
- Financially, not a great time for the country. The stock market may show volatility, and it is not a time to speculate. Some bank or similar financial institution could be in trouble, leading to hardship for many.
- Diplomatic troubles in foreign relations, which may affect trade as well as defence. There may be reshaping of partnerships with other countries.
- Ordinary success, overall, in the world of sport for the country. From April 2025 onwards, results may be ordinary for teams that are owned by the firm Indiawin Sports (e.g., the IPL team Mumbai Indians).
- Places or businesses of leisure, entertainment and amusement may not do very well. There may be also be a negative incident at such a place.
- Some kind of a sex scandal or case relating to a woman (or a prominent divorce case) may run a lot in the news cycle.
- The Aam Aadmi Party may go through severe internal challenges. Some core people in the party and/or its head office may leave/change.
- The currently ruling party of India, the BJP, too, may face strong challenges related to internal organisation, party leadership and internal communications. A long era of decline could begin for the BJP: its hold on the people to reduce. At the same time, its politics may become more aggressive.
- The top leadership of the Congress Party could see movements or changes.
- There may be strong legal/regulatory issues for political strategist Prashant Kishor's newly launched Jan Suraaj Party.
- Some corporates: Very difficult times ahead for Adani Enterprises. (See my detailed post here on the near future of Adani Enterprises from an astrological point of view.) It could be a challenging year for both HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank, two of the largest private sector banks of India. For babywear retailer FirstCry, regulatory/legal or employee issues are possible. There may be some unexpected, positive changes for Zee Entertainment, and its leadership group could see changes. Reliance Industries, India's largest private sector firm, is now entering a period of business reorganisation and big changes in its leadership ranks, though the very big changes should happen around 2028-29, not this year, but some important changes should already happen this year, too.

And if you want me to increase the range of the countries and types of predictions I cover, as well as their accuracy (notably regarding dates of events), one of the best ways is to make a generous donation if you can afford it. It would be greatly appreciated as very few astrologers practise mundane astrology.
