PREDICTIONS

Note: It is strongly recommended that you read the H2 2025-26 (late Sep 2025 to late Mar 2026) predictions for China, here, in conjunction with this post. It is also advised to read the long-term predictions for the country, which can be accessed on a dedicated page for long-term predictions, here.

And now follow predictions for China specific to the Winter 2025-26 period:

  • There may be a strong earthquake (M6.0+) or very strong landslide in the country during this period. Instead, or in addition, there could be some significant mining accident or other occasions for fall of structures (bridges, etc.) and buildings. There could also be accidents on farms. (For more detailed and regular earthquake and accident predictions, follow my earthquake predictions webspace at Astro Weather Watch, in case you already are not doing so.)
  • Noteworthy transportation accident(s), including a major disaster, also possible during this period. Vehicles that cross water (they need not necessarily be a ship; a plane going over a boggy marsh or a train crossing a river are also such examples) more in danger.
  • Overall, it may be a colder than usual winter for the country. Rain or snow, too, could be higher than usual. Some parts may see significant rainstorms or snowstorms accompanied by high winds. Typhoon(s) could trouble the country.
  • Death of a major artist (probably painter, actor or musician) likely during this period.
  • There may be a significant crime, controversy or scandal relating to women or children or the young, or relating to those connected with education. More than one such incident could take place.
  • Changes may take place in the government. Death or strong illness or injury possible to a member of the government. There may be delays in legislation passing through.
  • There could be strong discontent among people at some place. It is not usual in China for such discontent to be able to manifest itself (through demonstrations, protests or strikes, for example), but this time it may do so. Instead, it could be a large number of people gathering for some other purpose.
  • Relations with some nearby country or countries may be very much in the spotlight. They could even involve military fractiousness or aggressive talk and action.
  • Trade relations with the U.S. or other faraway countries could see more turbulence, yet again. Any respite that had been offered by the U.S. on tariffs may be withdrawn or diminished.
  • There may be strong movement and activity of the armed forces (particularly the Navy) during this period. There could also be an accident or misfortune occurring to the armed forces during this time.
  • Incidents affecting religious people may continue to occur in the country.
  • The country may not fare that well, especially in the first half of this period, in the world of sport. Results may improve towards the end of this period.
  • There may occur a significant breakthrough in science or technology in the country during this period.

For possible critical dates, see the Critical Dates page.

Note: Regularly updated lists of some of my successful predictions in the past can be found here. They include the election of Sanae Takaichi as Japan's new prime minister, the fall of Paetongtarn Shinawatra government in Thailand, India's trade troubles with the U.S., U.S. bombing of Iran, Israel's strike on Iran, the timing of India's missile strikes on Pakistan, the death of Pope Francis, Trump win, French, Indonesian and South Korean politics in the recent past, several elections correctly called, and numerous earthquakes, accidents and other disasters (such as the Hong Kong and Ōita fires).
