Weather watch: 17-24 Oct 2024

Weather Watch posts are always available to all, regardless of your subscription status, as they are published in the public interest, so that mitigation measures can be taken in advance when bad weather is forecast. For regular astrological updates regarding different countries, regions, events and leaders, please consider subscribing here.

Note: Prediction periods are not ON-OFF switches. Thus, if some prediction period starts from, let us say, 15 October, it is not that things cannot happen on 13 or 14 October. You may head to the Terminology page to make sure you understand what I mean when I name some particular city or region in these advance weather warning bulletins.

This post won't be edited once published.

Astrometeorological predictions for the period 17-24 Oct 2024:

Note that as I am travelling, I am issuing these predictions for only a limited places, unable to give time to have a look at many parts of the world during this period.

  • Saurashtra/Kutch/Sindh coast may see very heavy rain.
  • Northeastern India, Bangladesh and/or much of Myanmar may see a storm. The likelihood is the strongest in Arunachal Pradesh, northeastern Assam and much of Myanmar, including Yangon.
  • The region all the way from Aceh (Indonesia) to Singapore also shows the same strong probability of a storm. Much of Sumatra, most of Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia also come in this region. High winds may also be seen in Vietnam, Cambodia and/or Laos.
  • Yunnan-Sichuan-Guizhou-Chongqing region of China, too, may see a storm or strong precipitation.
  • The area around Fujian-Taiwan may see quite much rain.
  • The Korean peninsula and nearby Nagasaki area may see very heavy precipitation.
  • Parts of the island of Hokkaido may see heavy precipitation, too.
  • Copious rain may be seen in the Philippines and in the Banda Arc region, as well as by the nearby Northern Territory (Australia) coastline. Parts of northern Queensland coastline may also see rain.
  • There may be quite a lot of precipitation in Victoria and Tasmania regions of Australia, especially around Melbourne-Devonport area.
  • Precipitation all along the eastern coastline of Australia. The area around Townsville looks particularly exposed.
  • A very strong chance of an earthquake near 36 degrees East longitude. The line crosses right in the middle of Turkey (near Kayseri), and mucb or all of Jordan, Syria and Lebanon also fall in this area. Cyprus, too, is not far from this line. Some of these areas may also see quite a bit of precipitation.
  • There could be a storm by the western coastline of Turkey.
  • The area between Cape Verde and Dakar may see strong rains.
  • Possibility of strong rain and even an earthquake in the region around Paraiba (Brazil).
  • High winds in the Haiti to Puerto Rico region.
  • Florida-Cuba region could see a storm.
  • High winds possible in Maine-Nova Scotia region.
