Update USA: Midterms 2026

Last week, I said that the Midterms cannot be predicted, for reasons I again listed out in that update post. However, maybe they can be, for this once?

While doing my regular quake & weather predictions, I came across this prediction line, meant primarily for wet weather, terror & accidents, but also for delusions & disappointments, passing right through Washington DC, the seat of U.S. Government, for 1-10 November period:

I posted the prediction line earlier at Astro Weather Watch and also tweeted about it on 31 October.

That it passes right through US capital DC, not even passing 10 km away, is significant for me, and what's even more is that it's a line for delusions and frittered away hopes, not for "troubles to authorities." What this signifies to me is that the Republicans could be in for a very bad election: probably, losses wherever there's even a a decent outside chance to lose. Democrats thus look very highly likely to me to control both the U.S. House and Senate in the aftermath.

One must note that I am assuming that the more traditional meaning of this line doesn't come into play at this location: terror/violent event, notable drowning/suicide, major scandal, etc. The onus is on the "disappointment, confusion" part of the line to thrust itself forward. Of course, more than one associations can play out.

Given that another such line (the "Escobal line" here, but I don't show its U.S. section) passes close by North Carolina capital Raleigh, I wonder if I should extend the symbolism and say that NC Senate may be flipped to Dems?

Another line I published (the "Sopchoppy line"), this one for "notable troubles to politicians," passes almost right through Georgia capital Atlanta:

Are Dems gonna pick up a Governor in Georgia?

Anyway, I am less certain about how the prediction lines would play out, if at all they would, for such local races: it is the line passing through DC that is the most intriguing. Assuming Trump, the occupant of DC, remains healthy during 1-10 November, it seems he might: (1) suffer crushing disappointment; and (2) make harebrained decisions (including those relating to the Iran war, Lula Presidency, etc.) in the aftermath of, and perhaps as a reaction to, this disappointment.

The prediction lines I publish are mainly designed for quakes & weather, as well as war & violence. Let's see if they can also be a useful guide for elections sometimes. It may perhaps be also apt to remember that on 17 January 2026, I'd predicted this:

"Late October to early November 2026 could bring a significant tragedy to the country, most probably a very strong earthquake/landslide, huge fire or a major transportation accident that lead to a large number of casualties. These particular time periods may, in addition or instead, also bring significant troubles to the ruler or government, and ruler may fall sick or be target of a strong scandal or severe troubles."

As you can see, troubles to the ruler during early November 2026 could even be bodily, not just election-related.

On that note, it may be worth having a look at the predictions for USA for late September to late December 2026 period, which aren't very rosy.
