Case study: Baltimore bridge collapse of March 26, 2024

The entirety of this post has exceptionally been made available to all for reading. However, please support my work and also assure yourself of access to all posts on this website by subscribing here or by making a donation.

First of all, as background for those who may not know of this, I quote the incident from the current Wikipedia page:

On March 26, 2024, at 01:27 EDT, the main spans of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in the Baltimore metropolitan area, Maryland, United States, collapsed after the container ship Dali struck one of its support pillars. Baltimore City Fire Department officials said that at least seven vehicles fell into the water.

Second, let me quote what I already predicted on March 14, 2024, for the U.S. in my spring 2024 and year 2024-25 predictions:

There is also a strong chance of a major earthquake in the country, with the risk greater in the Northeast U.S. (and Canada).

Now, in astrology, when I say earthquake, it usually means falling structures. (It can also mean landslides or falling airplanes sometimes: basically heavy things falling from a height.) In some of my posts on this same website, if you may have noticed, I sometimes use both the wordings: "falling structures or earthquake." Sometimes, I also use landslides. I simply use whatever wording comes to my mind while writing, as I write (type) fast in order to not impede my intuition. I have the practice of not editing it later, except for any typos, so as not to over-analyse it and thus "correct" the intuition; and once published, I don't edit it even for typos, as the primary purpose of this website is to bring credibility once again to the art of astrology, which is the very fountainspring of modern sciences, and I don't want to invite the charge of saying things to suit the fact. It is better to say things in advance: and given that astrology is a science of probabilities, some things, especially the ones with strong multiple testimonies, shall pass, some not.

(Note that this spring in the U.S. and neighbouring Canadian regions, especially the Northeast, may see yet more events of structures falling rather than just this one-off accident.)

And now, finally, let us get to the bridge. From an archived newspaper copy, I was able to obtain the date and time of the bridge's inauguration, which gives us the bridge's birth chart. Let's have a look at it.

Whoever inaugurated this bridge at such a moment certainly did not know of any astrology! What a terrible time to inaugurate something like a bridge. The very Ascendant is in a common sign, whereas for a highly durable thing which a bridge ought to be, a fixed sign would be much better. The ruler of the house of death (the 8th), and also the ruler of the Midheaven, is a retrograde Saturn in the sign of its detriment plus in the wrong hemisphere, given that it is the in-sect malefic here, indicating low chances of a long life. Instead, Mars, the out-of-sect malefic, is very angular and in 10th, whose ruler, Jupiter, is in 12th, the house of losses. And to come back to Saturn, it occupies the 3rd house, which is the most important house to judge for a bridge. Mercury, the natural functional ruler for a bridge, is not only combust but in a loose-orbed opposition with Pluto and in a very tight trine to the aforementioned, undignified Saturn. Pluto is at the almost exact midpoint of the Sun (vitality) and the South Node/Ketu (dissolution), and by its aspect to Mercury, transferring this tension to Mercury. A retrograde Venus in the sign of its detriment is in conjunction with this same South Node. Let us not forget to look at the Moon, the very body of the bridge: it is exalted in Taurus, but that's not a great thing when one looks at its loose-orbed opposition to Uranus. Being in domicile gives more stability, especially to a naturally fickle planet such as Moon, rather than being exalted, and for a bridge all we want is stability and durability. Exaltation by itself would have been OK, but here it is being aspected by Uranus, the sudden shock and blows giver.

From the above, we know now that it is not a very auspicious chart. But there are too many things bad there: what to focus on for timing? Mercury and Moon. Not only they are the functionality and the body of the bridge, respectively, but because Mercury in that birth chart is under extreme pressure.

Let us look at the March 25 lunar eclipse chart, overlaid on the bridge chart. I am doing it not for the time at which eclipse starts or reaches a maximum, but at the time the full moon perfects. To look at moon phases even for eclipses is my usual practice.

I have highlighted a few planets in the above. Note that the lunar eclipse is hitting the birth chart's Sun in a very close conjunction. Mars will hit the birth Mars exactly on the 26th of March. But most importantly, Mercury, which is currently tightly conjunct with Venus, will move a bit further forward, to be right on the South Node/Ketu on the 26th of March. Remember that Mercury was carrying on its shoulders the tension of Sun and Ketu? Here, Sun, as it eclipses the Moon, is acting as an extreme malefic, looking harshly at the Moon (the bridge's body). Mercury (the messenger), by being conjunct Ketu (dissolution) on such a day, is able to finally relieve itself of the Plutonic energies of wiping out and regeneration it had been labouring under since the day of the inauguration of this bridge! The bridge has been literally wiped out, and a new bridge shall take its place. Note also Jupiter, the ruler of 10th, where Mars is hitting on birth Mars, also hitting the birth Moon (the bridge's body). Jupiter relates to everything sea and seagoing, as the cargo ship was. Mars involvement indicates some kind of fire or explosion, which Mars' dispositor here, Jupiter (the cargo ship), did catch.

As these movements required just one day from the day of the lunar eclipse, the event happened on the 26th of March 2024. Here is the chart set for the event time and date, for confirmation:

Note how both Mercury and Mars positions have perfected. But remember that it is Mercury here that is important, whose pressure from birth has been relieved now.

Anything in nature will strive to return to its equilibrium, and if stopped against its natural flow towards harmony, will then do so with a force, a shock. This is the same principle on which every single thing operates: whether it be electric capacitors or hydel power dams or a bloodthirsty revenge taker from a long-oppressed minority community. It is another thing that the ripples created will generate newer disharmonies, which in turn will generate new forces, striving anew to return to balance. This is the drama, the thread of all life in the Universe. Understanding this is also key to being an astrologer.

A digression: To digress a bit, I hope in the future I can work with an AI expert with an open mind to develop and refine both mundane astrology systems and warning systems. AI can not only help an astrologer a lot, for example, picking up patterns not picked up so far, but help the world a lot here. For instance, soon, North America will see a total solar eclipse on the 8th of April 2024. Now, again, there would be places, structures, venues, etc., whose birth charts will have this eclipse falling on conjunctions with some planets or in very angular positions. Some of places would be in serious danger. Now it is not very easy for a human being to even think of all these places, let alone look at them. But if there were an astrological database for all kinds of structures, venues, etc., in a country, the AI can itself tell the astrologer that, hey, this, this and this chart deserves some more study, things are being activated there. The astrologer then has to look at only those charts, use their knowledge and intuition and come up, again working in collaboration with the AI system, come up with potential date and time when things could be mitigated (e.g., stop the traffic flow on a bridge, if that's the structure, during that time). I foresee this as difficult to happen in the current climate of hatred towards astrology, as ignorance rules the roost and prides itself as knowledge, but I hope one day this can happen. My dharma as an astrologer, till then, is to keep warning in my best capacity.
