General global overview of Year 2026-27

This post is about the 1-year period starting from March 20, 2026 (Giza time). When I say "the year" or "this year" in this post, it always means the period from March 20, 2026, till March 20, 2027. It has nothing to do with a calendar year (January 1 to December 31).

The following gives a preview of the overall flavour of the year 2026-27. More specific predictions will come in posts specific to each country that I cover: I plan to publish them in a day or two, so that by March 20, 2026, I am hopefully able to publish predictions for almost all the approximately 30 countries that I cover regularly. (I have been unable to publish Winter 2025-26 predictions for all the countries, hence going to start publishing earlier for Spring 2026 or Year 2026-27.)

Predictions

General validity period: 20 March 2025 to 20 March 2026 (Giza time)

Warning

Year 2026 would be a very tough year for the world, in general. While the first half, notably February to early May, would bring extraordinarily strong and frequent disasters (earthquakes, weather events, plane crashes, deaths of important leaders and prominent personalities, etc.), the second half (notably mid-July 2026 onwards) would see a very restive world: a lot of violence in the form of rights movements, activism, conflicts, separatist struggles, terrorism, outright wars, and, once again, more plane crashes and deaths of prominent personalities.

More details given under Key periods (see below).

Other points

• Mainstream cryptocurrencies could see a major crash in this year, especially after late January 2026.
• I already published guidance on gold for 2026-2027 in April 2025.
• April 2026 onwards, for the next several years, may see strong developments in technologies in some of the following areas: drones (including drone warfare and anti-drone defence systems), and, in general, warfare technology; ageing; skincare; mobility, transportation and telecommunications; exploration of space and other planets; AI and quantum computing.
• There may be strong developments, as said in the previous point, in the field of AI during several years starting from April 2026, but they may be disruptive. There may be paradigm shifts involved; different ways (than relying on LLMs) of reaching AGI may be proposed and gain wide acceptance. This also means that, while AI may in itself be more and more disruptive for current lifestyles, it itself would go through several disruptions and revolutions, which also means that the AI bubble (in current valuations and stock prices of several firms from the AI-exposed sector) is highly likely to crash in a big way, as early as Spring 2026.
• My readers and clients should always bear in mind, when planning their lifestyles, investments, etc., for the future years, that I have consistently predicted that the world is moving towards a major Great War during 2029-2033, and much of the world will be involved in it. (I do not like the term Third World War for reasons that I will write about at some point of time, later.) Till then, more and more localised conflicts and volatility would keep happening, as conditions for a major war ripen.
• See posts for 2026-2027, published earlier for China & Russia (here) and for India (here). China could gain territory (Taiwan); Russia may undergo upheaval (fall of Putin); and India may face strong economic hardships (even if attempted to be masked by the government).
• Strong earthquakes and very high precipitation (and events such as strong floodings, landslides, etc.) would be a key feature of the year. I have already predicted in the past that the world to move towards a global cooling cycle during 2026 to 2080, based on higher and higher precipitation, especially in MENA region itself, upending existing climate cycles. (See long-term predictions.)
• Nepal should be wary of a strong earthquake.

Key periods

(This section can also be found on my Critical Dates page.)

• There are likely to be more than the usual number of malefic incidents and strong accidents in Western Europe during Winter 2025-26 and early Spring 2026 (21 Dec 2025 to 10 May 2026), especially during February-March 2026 and late April-early May 2026. (This was first posted on my X account on December 6, 2025. This period has already started with the tragic fire of Switzerland on January 1, 2026.)
• Late July 2025 to early March 2026: The period from late July 2025 till early March 2026 is likely to bring several mega-earthquakes (or highly destructive quakes) as well as tsunami occurrences. It will be a very quake-prone and water-prone (tsunami, storms, etc.) period the world over. (This was posted by me in the first half of 2025, and several strong earthquakes have already happened since then. I foresee more.)
• January 28 to February 6, 2026: This period may see strong disasters and other important events in the world. The dates of February 4-6, 2026, in particular, are extremely malefic. Some major negative incidents are possible during these dates.
• February 14-21, 2026, and February 26-March 6, 2026: Expect increased accidents, violence, storms, etc.

Overall, expect a high frequency of accidents, travel inconveniences and communication glitches during February 14 to March 23, 2026.

• March 20-23, 2026: These dates may produce accidents, prominent deaths or high mortality, strong earthquakes, storms, very heavy rains, etc.
• March 26-27, 2026: Could bring trouble for U.S. President Donald Trump
• March 30-April 5, April 14-21, and Apr 27-30, 2026: In general, the month of April 2026 may be an extremely malefic month, with several disasters and travel accidents that could take place.

The period from around April 17-30, 2026, may bring strong transportation accidents, including for journeys involving a Boeing plane, as well as communication technology issues (e.g., outage of some network). Riots and conflicts could take place in some places. In addition, some businesses may also suffer during this period.

Some of the most critical areas of the world to watch out for in April 2026 would be parts of the Balkans (especially Bosnia-Macedonia part), the Punjab-Kashmir-Afghanistan region of the Indian subcontinent, parts of Iran, parts of the Levant (especially Israel-Lebanon-Syria-Jordan region and Egypt), Russia and the Baltic states (especially Lithuania), Sweden and parts of Germany.

In the above period, the subperiod of April 18-21 is intensely malefic (also falling objects, fires & explosions, mine accidents, earthquakes, storms, etc., besides all that mentioned already).

• May 3-6, 2026: These dates may produce accidents, deaths, major earthquakes, storms, etc. Death of some leader highly likely in this period.
• May 18-19, 2026: This date may produce accidents, deaths, major earthquakes, storms, etc.
• First half of June 2026: Major breakthroughs, including some very positive events or military gains, could happen relating to Muslim land(s) or communities. This may also be an upbeat period for stocks in general.
• June 28-July 24, 2026: This may be a period of high frequency of accidents (minor and major), quakes, communication glitches, etc.
• July 15-22, 2026: Incidents of terrorism and violence may increase; strikes, demonstrations, rebellions increase; high precipitation in some areas; volcanic eruption could occur.

Overall, the period from mid-July 2026 till the end of July 2027 should be a very strident period of violence: expect to see further increased terrorism, separatist movements and independence struggles, conflicts of such a nature, activism, protests or rights movements involving power struggle, wars and conflicts in general, and higher volcanic activity in general. There may also be major space missions or ocean exploration (or deepsea exploration) missions during this period.

• August 5-15, 2026: It is highly likely to be a time of high frequency of minor and major accidents (including plane crashes), disasters and other malefic incidents; there may be problems to leaders, rulers and authorities in some countries
• August 24-31, 2026: Again, this is likely to be a time of several accidents and other malefic incidents, including some major ones.
• October 2026: This month may bring some strong developments and difficult incidents in or relating to Muslim land(s) or communities.
• October 23-November 14, 2026: This may be a period of high frequency of accidents (minor and major), quakes, communication glitches, etc.
• November 12-15, 2026: Strong earthquakes, major fires or notable incidents of violence could occur
• Early February 2027: Terrorist incidents could occur; heavy precipitation, too, could occur in some areas; negative incident(s) affecting or involving Muslim land(s) or communities likely; death of major artist(s) and/or some prominent wealthy person(s)
• February 8-March 4, 2027: This may be a period of high frequency of accidents (minor and major), quakes, fires, communication glitches, etc.

Within this:

February 14-18, 2027: Strong earthquakes, fires and/or major incidents of violence or notable accidents could occur.

February 21-March 4, 2027: Strong fires, explosions or incidents of violence; major accidents could occur.

• March 18-21, 2027: Strong earthquake or major accident may occur; tech outage, cyber breach or some other communication disruption (e.g., power lines or subsea cables getting affected) highly likely
